According to Dutch daily NRC Handelsblad of 24 October, a dead pike was found in Maasdam village.
The pike was 125 cm in size. It had tried to eat a 75 cm big zander. The zander was too big, killing the pike by choking.
Cormorants don’t eat fish over 48 centimeter, the usual maximum for herons is 16 cm.
