Capitalist crisis in the USA, Mark Fiore animation [Politics, Economic, social, trade union, etc., Humour] — Administrator @ 10:57 pm

This Reuters video says about itself:

Massive demonstration in Reykjavik October 18, 2008

Massive demonstation in Reykjavik on October 18,2008 outside the parliament demanding the resignation of the chief director of the Central Bank of Iceland and ex-PM David Oddsson. 2,000 gathered to protest in a population of 320,000.

Under conservative Oddsson, Iceland became a guinea pig for the ultra capitalist nostrums of Milton Friedman. Ultra capitalist ideologists used to name Iceland as THE example about how “brilliant” their theories were. Now, all those fairy tales are collapsing on the hard rocks of reality.

There is a new animation by Mark Fiore from the USA on the Internet.

It is called The Clapper.

It is here.

It is about how big business in the USA suddenly drops its ideology of “free enterprise” in the present crisis; and lobbies for big government bailouts.

Bailout in the USA: here. And here.

Winter cold kills people in Britain: here.

War, drought and a wheat shortage threaten Afghanistan with a winter of hunger: here.

  1. Bailout 2008, a poem by David Jeffrey

    Like a bloodied warrior,
    laying broken and torn.

Like a dying soldier, hopeless and forlorn.

But the blood, it be green,
    the color of money.

And the soldier is an economy,
and it is anything but funny.

Broken are it’s people and shattered are their dreams.

Thanks to the ultra rich and their full proof schemes.

It is a tragedy with more pain to come.

Finance will be Hell, and their wills will be done.
