  1. Understanding the US-Iran Crisis

    A primer by Phyllis Bennis

‘This important analysis deals with the facts - and not the deception and
fear-mongering - of the Bush administration’s verbal, thus far, war
against Iran. Can anyone read this book and still support an attach on
    Iran?’

    - Seymour M. Hersh, The New Yorker, on ‘Understanding the US-Iran Crisis:
    A Primer’

‘I have come to seek out anything Phyllis Bennis writes and says and I
urge you to do the same. I need her coherent understanding to help me as I
travel and speak publicy about the present nightmare called US foreign
    policy’

    - Danny Glover, actor and activist

Written in an easy-to-read ‘frequently asked questions’ format,
Understanding the US-Iran Crisis: a primer examines the history of US-Iran
relations, and calls for replacing the current US policy of aggression
toward Iran with alternative strategies for defusing the crisis.

Middle East and foreign policy expert Phyllis Bennis asks and answers the
though, important questions about the current crisis:

    - Is Iran a threat to the United States? Or Israel?
    - What does Iran have to do with the US was and occupation of Iraq?
    - Where does oil fit into US policy towards Iran?
    - Is diplomacy possible between the US and Iran?

Phyllis Bennis is a fellow of the Institute of Policy Studies
(www.ips-dc.org) in Washington, and the Transnational Institute in
Amsterdam. Her books include Ending the Iraq War: a primer, Challenging
Empire: how people, governments and the UN defy US power and Understanding
    the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict: a primer.
