Film director Ousmane Sembène dies [Film] — Administrator @ 7:18 pm

In this video, the Senegalese film director Ousmane Sembène receives the Akira Kurosawa award at the 1993 San Francisco International Film Festival.


Sembène directed Black Girl, Borom Sarret, Ceddo, Guelwaar and Xala, all of which SFIFF has shown over the years.

On Saturday 9 June 2007, Ousmane Sembène died in Dakar, Senegal.
